{mosgoogle left} Erica and Tina Campbell, collectively known as Mary Mary, have had to postpone their appearance at this Saturday's He Lives concert due to Erica's husband, Warryn Campbell, being rushed to hospital on Friday 18 April.
Warryn, a renowned music producer, was diagnosed with a form of kidney cancer which resulted in an emergency operation to remove one of his kidneys at a hospital in Los Angeles. The operation was successful however Warryn has been noted to be in some discomfort but set to make a full recover which will span over a six-week rest period.
Understandably Erica Campbell is dedicating the immediate time to support, love and oversee her husband's recovery and therefore Mary Mary have postponed all engagements as of immediate effect which includes their debut appearance at He Lives in Bolton, UK on Saturday 26 April.
Holly Carter, a representative of Mary Mary's official management, confirms the postponing of Mary Mary's engagements. "We regret to inform that due to a sudden terminal condition diagnosed, needing immediate surgery, of Warryn Campbell, the husband of Erica Campbell, the Mary Mary tour, scheduled for this weekend in the UK and Amsterdam has been postponed until July. We are happy however to report that the surgery, performed last Friday was a success and God, as we believed He would, performed a miracle. The prayers of the righteous do avail much."
She continued: "It is our sincere desire that you continue to pray for their family and the full recovery of Warryn Campbell. It will take six weeks to fully re-gain his strength as advised by his doctors and so Erica will remain by her husband's side until such. During that time we are requesting our friends of the UK, Holland and Europe to continue with us in prayer and to bare with us as we take this time for healing. We are so excited to be coming to the UK and are looking forward to a powerful move of God when we come."
Warryn and Erica Campbell married in May 2001 and they have one daughter together, Krista Nicole Campbell born September 2004.
Meanwhile, He Lives organisers in the UK confirm that this weekend's big concert will still go ahead. The event will now concentrate on some of the hottest names on the UK Gospel circuit including MOBO Award 2007 winners GForce, Roger Samuels, Witness, HARP and relative newcomers Mighty 'n' Seyi.
"We request all our friends in the UK to support the He-Lives Concert which is still on for Saturday 26th April. We believe that you will all be blessed," says Holly Carter.
As a gesture of goodwill, He Lives will honour all those who have bought tickets to see Mary Mary by offering a concessions price when the Mary Mary concert is re-scheduled later on this year. But for this weekend's gig, the ticket prices have been reduced as follows: £15 (adults), £10 (students and under 16s) and children under five go for free.
He Lives is one of north east England's main annual gospel events attracting thousands of attendees over the last three years.
